This project was one of our most special, a feeling we share with the owner. Trying to build a most ambitious compromise between the image, thought and feeling: modern, sustainable and in the same time close to nature.
“We're trying to make a public architectural statement about the unique beauty and character of using raw materials and handcrafted products from Nordic companies, with an emphasis on wood. The villa includes locally grown pine, larch, cherry, ash and oak and we would like to include walnut as well. “
“Unique Wood Design’s own handcrafted basins and bathtub add a soulful and warm earthy beauty to an architectural project nestled in the Swedish countryside. The pieces compliment the home’s Scandinavian theme where the focus is made on using natural materials such as wood and stone. The basins and bathtub ignite a reaction of delight and amazement for the home’s inhabitants and visitors, as the use of wood is often an overlooked option; porcelain and steel are commonplace. These pieces serve their functional purpose well, but also radiate unique beauty, making the home feel inviting and special.”
