This private attic apartment in Paris was designed as a calm retreat beneath the city rooftops. The interior balances compact architectural constraints with carefully selected materials, where the bathroom becomes a central, intimate space defined by a custom wooden bathtub made in oak.
The bathtub is a fusion of the Gaia and Puari models, combining proportions inspired by the Japanese Ofuro bathing tradition with European ergonomics. The deeper soaking position references the ritual aspect of Japanese bathing, while the refined geometry ensures comfort suited to contemporary residential living.
Crafted in oak, the bathtub introduces warmth and texture into the attic setting, contrasting with the angular roof lines and enhancing the spatial character of the interior. The project illustrates how bespoke wooden bathtubs can be adapted to unique architectural environments such as attic apartments.
